What's it about?

HMI/CHCI has been involved in encouraging communities and families in the Hockey Community since 1977.On-ice drill Chicago 2007

Christian Hockey Camps International hosts approximately 2000 young hockey players worldwide every summer. In 2007, 30 camps in seven countries were arranged by their own local volunteer committees.

These local volunteers planned, promoted, staffed, and were encouraged by the 5-day live-in hockey camps with their local youth. HMI comes alongside local teams to provide hockey instructors (including NHLers), camp expertise and resources, and general guidance.

Hockey Ministries International reaches Grande Prairie, AB, Canada

This year in Grande Prairie we are very excited and very privileged to host the expertise and quality that Hockey Ministries International brings to their camps. This is the first year for this type of camp in Grande Prairie and our local executive committee is thrilled about our partnership with HMI/CHIC. Our local committee consists of a team from 3 local churches, People’s Church, Christian Fellowship Assembly, and Grande Prairie Alliance.

This year's instructors are familiar names in Grande Prairie - Mark Malekoff, Stephanie Jones, and Ryan Chrenek. As well, we will confirm our power skating instructor and the NHLers from HMI coming to Grande Prairie in the spring. Our desire is to have high quality instruction on the ice as well as off the ice.

The off-ice instruction comes through the time out discussions where we discuss Five Biblical Christian Values that are fundamentally important to life on the ice as well as off. For 2008, our camp theme is “Road to Victory” and we will be discussing self-control, courage, teamwork, perseverance, and respect. There is a creative team putting together a clear presentation of these values; our goal is to be an encouragement to your family.

Get ready to skate, work, laugh and have a fantastic time!
